Fundraising Highlights

We’re keen to give thanks and thumbs up to the many generous people that have contributed over the past couple of months to YPWD allowing us to continue to provide our services to keep carers and those with dementia living well.

There are many highlights to mention from the donation from the Marlow Rider’s Red Kite Bike Ride to all the festive fellows and ladies that purchased our Christmas cards last year.  Our friends at Morgan Lovell, based in Bracknell, provided a matched donation for all the funds that their staff had raised for YPWD last summer, when they walked the Thames Path and held an auction.

We also broke new ground by launching our very first crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to be able to provide the Equine Therapy workshop over the coming months.  Members of the public, our friends and staff from Aviva helped us to reach our campaign target just before Christmas.

We are also gobsmacked and humbled by the altruism of customers at Sainsbury’s and Tesco who all dug deep in December to fill our collection tins to the brim in Tadley and Reading respectively.  Our staff and trustees were able to share details about Young Onset Dementia and raise awareness to a significant number of people in conversations throughout each day.

Finally, we would like to offer our sincere thanks to those very generous families who arranged for in-memoriam collections for YPWD as they remembered loved ones.
