Some brilliant fundraising news during these challenging times

We are incredibly happy to be able to announce that we have been awarded a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund and HM Government. The grant has been made possible by the Coronavirus Community Support Fund which was set up by the government to distribute £200m to charities throughout England that submitted a grant application.

As the title of the support fund suggests the grant monies are to be used by charities to continue to deliver their day to day services during the covid-19 pandemic.  It is as a result of the pandemic that the charity sector in the UK is estimated to have lost up to £10bn in donations. Here at YPWD it is no different with up to 40% of our annual funding reliant on the goodwill of companies, charitable trusts and foundations, and those fabulous friends of the charity who participate in fundraising challenges during the year, raising tens of thousands of pounds to help us to maintain our services. Unfortunately owing to the pandemic this income has been significantly reduced.

There is still a great deal of work to do, however this generous grant will help YPWD over the next six months in continuing to provide services to those living with Young Onset Dementia and their carers across Berkshire to make life a little bit better during these difficult times.
